India Photos Part 2: Beauty and Decay

India is a country that is constantly moving. I said that before in one of my previous posts, but that concept is the overwhelming take away from a visit there. Constant motion and stimulus of all the senses through the decay of the country that is all around you, as well as through it's intermittant beauty that surprises you. It is almost too much to take in for Westerners who are used to order and predictability. Aesthetically, much of India is not pleasing. It is dry and dusty, and fairly filthy. But, we had the pleasure of being able to do most of our work in the northernmost part of India - the foothills of the Himalayas (we're talking about 7000-9000 foot mountains). Here are a few pictures of the juxtaposition of beauty and decay of India, always more than meets the eye:

I like the first one the best because then I don't have to think about what the last two mean.
